When you are old and have lots of grandchildren, will you gather them around you one day and tell stories about the great windstorm of 2008 that left you without power for several days?
Just imagine the senior citizen version of yourself recounting these tales:
School was canceled for almost the whole week!
We had to throw out almost everything in the fridge!
Even most of the libraries were closed!
No Internet, spotty cell phone service, and no TV for dayssssss!
I resorted to playing Scrabble by candlelight with my family!
An entire tree fell on our roof!
A tree fell on my neighbor's car!
Every Chipotle in town was closed!
I had to put my makeup on in the dark!
My mom made me pick up all the sticks in the yard!
What's the craziest thing that the windstorm did to you? Are you back in school yet?

A LOT OF YOUNG FOLKS WERE EITHER LOst and distorted, without power. THEY WERE lying in the street saying that there was no power, and back in that day, it meant there was nothing to do. Because no power=no VIDEO GAMES,T.V.,RADIO OR STEREO meaning death and bordem were inevitable. However, being the smart youngster that I AM, I had a book from my beloved Linden Library were spent most my fridays and and occational weekdays. So while every one was dying from the the lack of power,I finished A 430 paged book in about 3days. So the moral of this story is not to be base your life on electronics and such.

You definitely are a smart youngster. Keep it up. :)
my neighbors and i made a fort from all the fallen branches
Omg, i was without power for only 1 day and have people telling me all the time how lucky I was. Not really, I live in berwick/bexley which is FULL of old, tall, and many branched trees. I was picking up sticks and raking leaves for 3 days!!!
the power was out in clintonville, where i live for a week Luckily with Whetstone down the street from my house and they had power, we were saved by the library
Fortunately for me, things weren't too bad. The power was only off for a few hours.
(But we did get 2 days off school!)

hey! the windstorm didn't affect me too much. but i know a lot of people who it did affect. and a wife of a AEP man said that he was on call for like 24-48 hrs. until the electric was fixed. :/ i don't think i would want that job. :/
:/
what caused the windstorm?
i think it would be hard to deal with a lack of power. ... hard, but not impossible.
im just glad it's over ! :)
will there ever be anything like that again? :)
because when the wind hit my house, my 4 bunnies' cages fell down, and they got out so we brought 1 on our screened in porch and the other 3 were finr outside. but it was scary to know that the wind was strong enough to knock over about a 100-150 pound bunny hutch. :/
i don't like bad weather.. i hate rain and stuff like that too. :/ and i hated the blizzard. :/ who's with me?
It's my understanding that the windstorm was actually remnants of a hurricane from down south. CRAZY!
